Are you looking for a Cheder where your son can learn Torah in a personalized environment that will instill yiras shamayim and chassidishe chayus? If so, Cheder Mamosh of Crown Heights is the Yeshivah for your child.
Our cheder's multi-age concept is one of integrating learning levels so children can progress at their own pace. We will be starting with a combined Pre1A and first grade class and have recruited a Kriah teacher with specialized training and certification. This will ensure our students start the next grade at their maximal capability of reading Loshon Hakodesh. We believe this is the most important skill at this stage of learning, so that our boys can fully participate in Chumash, Davening and learning in general. With a strong and comprehensive foundation in kriah, a child can fully focus his energy on the learning itself.
Our lead teacher is Rabbi Yehoshua Sherrf, formerly of Lamplighters Yeshivah. With seven years of teaching experience, Rabbi Sherrf is devoted to instilling in every child a love of learning al taharas hakodesh and a joy in being the Rebbe’s chossid. His teaching methodology highlights davening with lots of singing and simcha, and yomei d’pagra are celebrated with farbrengens, chassidishe nigunim and stories. Art projects will be incorporated to foster creativity and enhance kinesthetic learning.
An optional English language program will be available after school. As Yiddish is no longer the main language in many homes, English is a way to facilitate learning; the ability to taitch a possuk in a language they are familiar with empowers the boys to express themselves in Kodesh subjects, as well as engenders a love of reading.
Now more than ever, children need learning and care that keeps them interested and inspired. With so much uncertainty, we hope that our small size will allow us to stay fully open this coming year.
